Fred Bunnell
I was born in 1940 near Rinard, Illinois. Baptized into Christ at the First Christian Church in Fairfield, Illinois while in high school. I have served as both a deacon and an elder at several Christian churches through the years. I married June Sasseen in 1959. We have three children, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Southern Illinois University in 1962. I did some graduate work in mathematics and developmental learning at the University of Alabama. I worked as a software engineer and systems analyst at IBM for 20 years, mainly as a contractor for NASA, including the Gemini and Apollo programs. I then worked for Ford Aerospace and Lockheed Martin as a contractor for NASA and the Army on various programs, including an army “laser tag” training system, which brought me to Fort Hood in 1998. We joined Crestview Christian Church and at some point, which I can’t honestly remember when, I was elected as an Elder. A position I have held for several years.
