I was baptized into Christ in 1979 at the age of 9 in Holyoke, Colorado, where I was born and raised. I left home for college after high school. I received an Associate’s degree in Communications in 1990 and spent a few years on air as a radio DJ. I was married in 1991 and a year later Doug joined the Army where we stayed until 2011 when he retired. The Army took us to Germany, where our first son, Spencer, was born, and then on to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where our daughter Lydia and son Izak were born. After Kentucky, he spent a year in Korea and then we moved to Fort Hood in 2002 where we have lived ever since. We joined Crestview shortly after coming to Texas because we immediately felt welcomed and a necessary part of the congregation. This church family became our family!
I started volunteering in Germany as a way to get out of the house and meet people; and I’ve been involved in some type of service ever since. I have volunteered with Protestant Women of the Chapel, spouse’s clubs, cub scouts, girl scouts, boy scouts, and here at Crestview I have taught children’s Sunday School, helped run VBS a couple times, play drums in the praise band, and have served as the elected Treasurer since January 2016.
I currently drive a school bus for Copperas Cove ISD taking elementary and junior high students back and forth daily in addition to driving trips for games, band competitions, field trips, etc. Additionally, I am a full-time student working on my second Associates degree in Office Technology and Administration.
In my spare time I like to read, watch crime TV, and sometimes I even get time to quilt – something I really love to do – as well as travel.
My faith is strong. I have always believed in God and do my best everyday. I am a firm believer in answered prayer and God’s ability to guide/push you where he wants you to be – even if you don’t always want to be there.
